Isla Urbana – Rainwater Harvesting Systems for Schools – Mexico City, Mexico
In collaboration with researchers from the University of Toronto and partners at Isla Urbana, AquiSense has provided PearlAqua Micro units for use in rainwater harvesting systems for rural and urban schools struggling with access to clean water.
NASA – Leidos Potable Water Dispenser – International Space Station
AquiSense provided Leidos with PearlAqua Micro units for integration into the Exploratory Potable Water Dispenser. Providing NASA astronauts with clean drinking water on the International Space Station.
Following a company buyout from former owners Nikkiso, AquiSense has secured Series A investment led by Burnt Island Ventures, Kentucky Capital Fund, and returning private seed investors. Funds will be used to accelerate growth in a broad range of treatment applications and reinforce AquiSense as the market leader in UV LED technology.
CTO Jennifer Pagán – 2025 Bayh-Dole Coalition Award
AquiSense CTO, Jennifer Pagán, was recognized with the 2025 Bayh-Dole Coalition “American Innovator Award” for her industry defining work with UV-C LEDs which started as a student at UNC Charlotte. Jennifer was honored at a ceremony in Washington, D.C., and spoke with members of Congress to educate them about the benefits of UV LED technology and to emphasize the importance of the Bayh-Dole Act, which empowers researchers to obtain patents for their work.
